There’s not much in this world I love more than a good mani/pedi. They are so relaxing and I am t-totally obsessed with nail polish. I usually stick to neutrals; I’m a huge fan of black, gray, and taupe. But I will occasionally throw a neon or pastel in the mix. One thing you can almost always count on is that there will be plenty of glitter topping off whatever color I choose that day (except for this time). Glitter is so fun and can dress up any manicure. Billy claims that I’m like a fish because I’m attracted to anything colorful or shiny. It’s mesmerizing and I can’t stay away. Sorry, I’m not sorry.
So you’ve decided you need to pamper your paws, which salon do you choose? Do you have a go-to manicurist or do you like to try different places? Everyone enjoys different aspects of the primping process. While some girls value a nail tech who gives great massages, I’m more into the nail tech who is going to dig on my cuticles and pull out the cheese grater for the bottom of my feet. That way, I know I am getting my money’s worth and my tootsies are going to be oh so healthy! When it comes to nail salons, I try to be really loyal to my favorite place, but sometimes have to stray away when I’m not in the Norman area. I usually get my nails done when I’m in Norman, or around Tish. If you live anywhere else, I’m probably inexperienced in that area, but love it if you could fill me in on the best salon in your local town! In Norman, my absolute favorite nail salon is Regal Nails in Wal Mart off of I35. I know, I know, going to a salon in a Wal Mart superstore is the opposite of relaxing, but the people watching is excellent and so are the nail techs. My mom got me hooked on this place. Everyone knows me by name and I’m usually asking all kinds of nosey questions about their beautiful Asian children (that’s a whole different obsession). I feel that you get the most “bang for your buck” at Regal Nails. Now, if you’re the type of gal (or guy) who doesn’t enjoy the pain and satisfaction of getting your ingrown toenails dug out like I do, then Regal Nails is not your place. I would suggest Allure Spa by the Super Target in Norman. Their massages and pedicures are heavenly; they can also wax a mean eyebrow there. Ardmore is another hot spot for nails salons with Luxury Nails and Nails Now, you can’t really go wrong.
Here is a picture of my latest mani/pedi along with the color name and brand, as well as an outfit post. Ladies, what are your favorite salons and color combos?

Wowza. We’re barely half way into this week and I’m already counting down the hours until Friday afternoon. I have so many taped interviews due, I’m dreaming about engagement and intake forms in my sleep. I’m trying my best not to become overwhelmed with all things school. I turned in my social work internship application this week, so that has me feeling really excited/anxious waiting to find out where my placement will be. Wherever it may be, I’m going in with a good attitude and open heart. I cannot wait to get that hands-on experience in the field I love!
Anywho, I am all kinds of obsessed with this sequined top. Anyone who knows me, knows that I love sparkles of any kind. It takes everything I have not to purchase every sparkly, sequined, bejeweled piece I walk by. I wanted to style this piece in two different ways. One has a more laid-back feel. I would probably wear this outfit to class, or to a football game once the nights cool down a bit. The sweater is a perfect way to keep warm on a crisp fall evening. The second look would be a better look for work or a girls night out. It’s a little more polished. I personally believe the blazer gives it a more professional feel, while the sequins peeking out are a way to let your personality shine through at work. FYI, I bought this top from The Lucky Rose in Tish, earlier in the summer. They no longer have the top, but I found the exact same top online.
Ignore my feet. Yuck. I will be getting a pedicure this weekend!

While chatting this weekend, Billy and I decided that if it were up to us, no one would ever work or go to school on Monday, and every weekend would last three days. Seriously, who doesn’t love a three day weekend? I felt so refreshed going to class today after having those three days of rest. I don’t know what it is about that extra day of weekend, but it makes a big difference in my outlook on life. Anyway, I wanted to share a little recap of our weekend through photos. We spent (almost) three full days celebrating Billy and his 23rd birthday. Billy is a pretty special guy, so I wanted to make sure that he had a special birthday. Friday after class we went to Norman to visit my mom and Tonto. That evening we went to The Cheesecake Factory (his favorite) followed by suite tickets at the OKC Redhawks baseball game, and a beautiful fireworks display post-game. Saturday we threw a him a party, followed by a full day of lounging and college football (even the $50 OU game on PPV, despite my protests). Sunday we hung out by the pool and Billy worked on his beloved truck, which is what he would spend all of his time doing all day, each day, if he could. All in all, it was a great weekend!

On the way from dinner to the game, we were trying to maneuver around OKC and stumbled upon the arts district, where I found these awesome painted buildings. Of course I hopped out and made Bill snap some pics for me! I’m obsessed with the metro area.
Lastly, Billy’s surprise party, which consisted of my mom and I sending him out on tons of errands, then hiding behind the kitchen island, jumping out, and yelling “SURPRISE!!”
