Embroidered Dress and Teacher Plan

Happy Monday! I wanted to fill you all in on something going on in my professional life! Recently I accepted an offer to participate in what my department is calling a “Teacher Plan”. Our hospital’s census typically dips pretty low in the summer, so you have all of these full-time employees with not much work to do (this is tricky because sometimes you can have a small amount of patients, but they have complex and numerous needs). But the thought behind it is, to help with productivity issues, one employee will be off 8 weeks during the summer, returning September 11th. I eagerly volunteered! I keep my title, position, benefits, etc., but I get some much needed time away from work. Being a social worker is so emotionally rewarding but also extremely exhausting. I thought this teacher plan would be the perfect way to practice some self-care. I’m so excited to have some time off. Once upon a time I considered becoming a teacher (not because I have a passion for teaching) but just so I could get the summer off. Lol. I plan to relax, take a couple of trips, and become more diligent in posting on my blog and Instagram. I can’t wait to see what this little break from work has in store! I’ll keep you guys posted!

Also, I’m sharing this dress below! I bought mine at Cayman’s in Norman, OK. But it’s also available online.

Summer Sweater

Hello! I hope the short work week has treated you well. It was so nice to have a holiday mid week! Nothing better than a short work week, in my opinion! This weekend we are going to a sweet friend’s baby shower. Which sparked the question of, what does one wear to a baby shower in the heat of summer? Despite the warm weather, I’ve been doing my best lately to invest in pieces that can work in cool or warm weather. This sweather is the perfect example of that. It’s comfortable to throw on during the evenings with jean shorts or white pants, but will be so cute to transition into fall with jeans and booties. When I ordered this online it was full price, but now it’s on sale! To shop, click the link below the photos.

Cute Nude Sandals

Hey friends! I hope you all had a wonderful holiday. We celebrated at the OKC Dodgers vs Iowa Cubs baseball game. The weather was absolutely perfect. It’s typically in the 100’s this time of year and yesterday the high way 82. Perfect baseball weather! I wore these shoes to the game and they are so comfortable. I have been eyeballing these since April but they were sold out everywhere. Just recently they came back in stock at Nordstrom and Dillard’s. They’re the perfect summer sandal! I feel they run true to size, possibly a touch on the small side. They’re linked below.

Pom Pom off-shoulder

Happy taco Tuesday, friends! The work week is dragging by so I wanted to post something that brings a smile to my face. Nothing says happiness like going pom lol crazy. My love for pom poms is still raging on. I keep thinking it will die down eventually, but no such luck, yet. So, for now I’m just going to keep on keepin’ on! Outfit details linked below. Palm Trees and Pink Top

Happy Father’s Day, friends! Hope you guys enjoyed the day. I have been on call so we stuck around Norman this weekend. I got this top in the mail yesterday and had to wear it for dinner! I’ve been loving the palm tree trend. Buddy Love had a pink dress with palm trees that I had my eye on, it sold out so quickly and hasn’t been restocked. I found this different (but similar) print top from a boutique in Texas, The Gypsy Rose. You can shop the top directly, here.

Aside from cute clothes, we tried a new brunch spot in town. It’s not new, but new to us! Scratch Kitchen and Cocktails. It was really good. I had the fried chicken biscuit (pictured below). Billy had the waffle, complete with berries, whipped cream and cinnamon sugar. It tasted like a cinnamon roll. Seriously delicious. We sat on the patio and there was a live band. It was truly the perfect weekend brunch spot. I encourage you to try it out!

Casual striped tee

Friends, I can’t believe it’s almost June. May is one of my favorite months but it came and went far too quickly! Since vacation we’ve just been settling back into our daily routines. I’m already itching to get out of town again. I would love to go to Crested Butte, Colorado or to visit my bestie in Wyoming. Until then, I’ll be over here holding down the fort in Oklahoma. I recently snagged this cute tee from Dillard’s! It’s so comfortable and I feel like it’s the perfect striped tee for summer. It’s linked down below!
